Discount Golf Bags to Save You Money
Friday, January 22nd, 2010
There are basically two types of discount golf bags. You can purchase cheap bags at cheap prices, frequently described as ‘discount’ but in fact you get little more than you paid for. If you pay a cheap price for a brand name you do not recognize, you can generally be sure that you are purchasing a cheap, low quality, product rather than a real discount golf bag.
Keep Your Eyes Open Not All Discounts Are Real
The second type of inexpensive golf bags are true discounts: they are well known branded bags which are available at reduced prices for one reason or another. However, even if the brand name is well known, you must still purchase with your eyes open and enquire as to the reason why the price has been reduced.
The golf bags that are inexpensive may be substandard products which have failed quality control and have been made available for sale at discounted prices. They may even be substandard products which have been scrapped, but are being sold by employees at cheap prices unknown to their employers. This practice is more common that you may believe.
Another reason for golf bags being sold at low prices is that they may have been damaged in some way. Transit damage and fire damage are two common reasons, but they may also be ex demonstration models or even returns from dissatisfied customers.
Look Out For New Launches
If you want to get a real bargain through the purchase of golf bags that are discounted, you should keep an eye or an ear out for news of the launch of a new range. This is when the old range may become available in retail centers at very low prices. These golf bags usually come onto the market when stores have to sell off their old stock quickly, to make room for the new models or designs.
The shops are normally given a price by the manufacturer at which they can sell the old range, and while there will be a tendency to sell at as high a price as possible for maximum profit, they can often be beaten down to a lower price, as long as it is not below that which they have been authorized to sell at.
Golf Bags Have The Discounts Built Into The Price
Corporations frequently build discounts into their budgets and original product prices for the launch of new products. They realize that their distributors need to sell off the old stock before they can stock up the new models, and give permission for price reductions in order to achieve this.
So, if you are looking for discount golf bags, wait until new models are due on the market, normally at around the same time every year, and you will usually be ably to get a top class product at the same price that you would normally pay for an unbranded cheap golf bag.

Golf travel bags can be the answer to this. Golf travel bags are designed to protect your golf clubs and the rest of your golfing equipment during transit. With the right golf travel bag, there should be no chance of your clubs getting damaged in your trunk.
Golf Travel Bags Protect Against the Baggage Handlers

Do you really think baggage handlers are going to give golf clubs any more consideration than any other piece of luggage?
What you need is a golf travel bag. Golf travel bags provide all the protection you need while traveling. The type of travel bag you purchase depends upon the type and amount of travel you do, but you can be sure that golfer who do not protect their clubs with a golf travel bag while driving or flying are asking for problems.
Secure Your Clubs
Some golf bags are specially designed to hold your clubs secure in the bag during normal use, and these will at least provide some degree of protection when traveling in that the clubs will not move around as much as those held loosely in an ordinary golf bag. However, most golfers do not have this option, and rely either on themselves driving carefully, on baggage handlers being gentle (?) or aircraft hold baggage not moving much during the flight. Would you feel happy relying on any one of these, especially if your clubs cost a few hundred, or even a few thousand, dollars?
Don’t Travel Without Your Golf Travel Bag

The hard shell golf travel bags cost more, but provide the highest degree of protection. Although the soft cover golf travel bags do not offer total protection, they cost less and can be used as regular carry bags during the round. Your golf bag can therefore also be your travel bag.

Cart Golf Bags To Preserve Your Strength For The Game
Monday, December 21st, 2009
Cart golf bags are designed to fit onto a golf cart so that you do not have to carry the bag and so can conserve all your strength for the game. They are different to normal carry bags in that they tend to be larger and bulkier, made from stronger material to give added protection and can carry a wider range of accessories and golf clothing. They also carry a full set of 14 clubs.
Cart Golf Bags Are Heavy – They Are Not Carry Bags!
These types of golf bags are normally a bit too heavy and bulky to lug around the golf course, and have to be used with a golf cart, so if you normally carry your bag do not be attracted by the fabulous designs and capacity, thinking it would be just the thing for you, even if you normally have a caddy, since neither you nor your caddy will appreciate that decision once you get onto the course.
That is why they are called CART golf bags. They are intended to be used with golf carts. Although they can be pretty heavy you should check that you can at least lift it when it is fully loaded. After all, you have to get it from your home to the car, and the car to the golf cart. You have to be able to lift it and secure it the cart. So don’t go wild and purchase the biggest golf bag for your cart you can find without trying it first.
Keep Up With The Fashion
Another point to consider is that these bulky bags can come with designer umbrellas and other accessories for the lady golfers. You can keep up with the latest fashion by purchasing a bag in the latest color and materials and buying matching handbag and accessories. This, of course, should not be your main consideration, but if you regard your golf accoutrements as making a fashion statement, then the field is open.
Do not, however, make the mistake of neglecting the functionality of cart golf bags. You should choose one which also meets your golfing needs. Perhaps you require a golf bag that holds a full set of 14 clubs, and you may want a locking system with individual compartments which holds each club securely, thus avoiding them moving around in the bag and getting damaged.
Make Sure Your Bag Is Functional
You should also make sure that your choice of the cart golf bags on the market has enough pockets for your needs. You may need pockets for your spare golf balls, tees, accessories such as divot tools, golf gloves, rainwear and an umbrella fastener.
All of these, of course also apply to your choice of any type of golf bag, but cart golf bags are especially suitable for customization due to the fact that weight is not so much of an issue. So choose wisely, and enjoy owning a piece of golfing equipment that you feel proud of.

Getting A Golf Bag For Newbies
Saturday, November 7th, 2009
You might be a golf beginner looking for your first set of golf clubs and equipment or a pro shopping for upgrades, but all will agree that golf bags are essential in the game. Next to golf clubs, a golf bag is one of the most important golfing equipment there is.
It is considered a necessity. A good golf bag will lessen your worries on the golf course, (i.e. all your clubs are in their proper place) and you can focus on your teeing.
If you’re a beginner golfer, then golf bags are definitely a must. However, there are things that you should know before going to the nearest golf store and buying a golf bag on impulse. First, there are two types of golf bags? carry bags and cart bags.
Carry bags are golf bags that are used when you are planning to have a lot of walking on the golf course. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a golf cart is your option. A beginner golfer will most definitely buy a walking bag at first, although if you are a serious beginner of the game, then you will eventually buy both types of golf bags.
If you are a newbie in the game, you might ask “What is a golf bag for? I only have four golf clubs.” A golf bag is a functional equipment rather than a fashion statement. It is not just for your golf clubs, but it can also hold your other golf equipment and accessories. Some advanced golf bags even have pocket coolers that can keep your drink ice-cold even for hours! You might want to consider that, especially when you will buy a carry golf bag.
When buying a golf bag, especially a carry golf bag, find a comfortable one. One should check the straps to see if it fits comfortably and whether it can be carried easily. Remember that your golf bag will be one of your trusted companions on the greens, and that you will spend hours with it. So choose wisely. Don’t buy low quality bags, because you will end up purchasing another bag in the next few months if your old golf bag tears up. You should also buy your golf bag depending on the number of golf clubs that you have. Most golf bags can carry up to 15 golf clubs. A tournament however limits the number of golf clubs in your golf bag.
Another important thing to consider when purchasing a golf bag is its weight. This is one of the most important things to know. Golf bags should be light enough to be carried or carted easily, but sturdy enough to hold your clubs and protect them. Some golf bags are even water resistant, and are rain proofed for the protection of your clubs. Most of these golf bags have 8 or 9 dividers or pockets. Again, the number of dividers that you will need depend on the amount of clubs and accessories you will carry. If you have many golf clubs then choose a golf bag with many dividers. However, these types of golf bags have the tendency to be heavier. Some bags can weigh less than 5 pounds! These types of bags are made up of space-age materials such as graphite, however, they more expensive.
Remember that when buying golf bags, the lighter it is, the better and more comfortable it will be.

There are many different types of junior golf equipment that can be considered by individuals who are looking to get themselves or their children into the game of golf. Before one can begin to play the game of golf, they need to be prepared for what the game of golf will require. There are different pieces of equipment that can be used by the individual, either to make sure that the individual can learn to strategize with the game of golf better, or just in order to enable the individual to play the game at all. Golf is a very fun sport for those who are interested in it. The world of golf can be highly competitive, but it is also very possible for golf to be relaxing and refreshing.
When an individual is more comfortable with the game of golf and prepared for it, both mentally and physically, it is possible for them to enjoy and excel at the game more easily. Preparation helps individuals to feel less inhibited and successful. Children can be especially self conscious about their activity in sports, which is why it can be so helpful for their parents to explain the game to them before they are presented with the junior golf equipment that they would be using while playing the game.
There are some pieces of junior golf equipment that will seem obvious, and other items that may seem to be less obvious. Of course, an individual will need the correct golf clubs and golf balls. These are the basics and the necessities of junior golf equipment. In addition, it will be very helpful for youths to have a golf club bag, in order for them to easily carry around their equipment. One of the best investments that a person can make when it comes to junior golf equipment is to get a bag with wheels on it. Even junior golf clubs can be heavy at times, and a child will be more capable of moving their clubs from one place to another if they are able to pull or roll the bag around. This will also help to limit the change of injury as the result of a youth carrying a golf bag that is too heavy for them.
Other, less obvious pieces of junior golf equipment would include golf socks and appropriate golf clothing. The socks are to be placed on top of the golf clubs and it helps to keep them clean and neat. There are also some types that can be places over the clubs in order to differentiate between the different types of clubs.
For the individual, having the right type of clothing and shoes is important in order to make sure that they are comfortable in the environment in which they are playing. How Good Are You As A Golfer?
Friday, July 17th, 2009
Somewhere around 106 is the apparent average golf score. It can be concluded that a great many number of men and women are shooting in the 110s, 120s and above, when you consider that numerous players are having scores in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Does this sound regular?
Whatever the case may be, we must admit that no matter what they score, most golfers are in search of that best dynamic – the sole thing -that will easily leave them with much lower scores. Many industries labor to produce countless DVDs, gadgets, and gizmos that promise the best tips for perfection. We have all probably invested in them; some have turned to be bad, and some good. But we are never satisfied. We watch the current infomercial of the Golf Channel making ourselves believe that investing some extra dollars on the credit card would not hurt that much.
There are no easy ways out if you diligently want to improve your game. Perseverance and dedication are required to practice the right things. Some instructions on golf and enough first hand experience would go a long way. Visit the range at least once every week and play one or two games per month. You will have to get a long-term evaluation of your golf game. Realize that it is bound to take some time before you hit low scores.
But are you a good golfer? I do not want to know what your score is on an average. It may give a glimpse of your game but it fails to give a general overview.
Let’s assume that you play the same golf course, or courses daily and I hope that you do have some scorecards stuffed in your golf bag or locked inside your drawer. It’s time to take them out. Start doing this from now on, if you have not done it so far. It’s time to get started on the game.
Take a look at the scoreboard and note down the best you have scored on each hole. You will see that the addition for 18 holes is better than anything you have ever scored before. Anyways, the hip thing is that this is how nice you can be. Perhaps you generally shoot a 6 on that tricky par 4, but you made par two times – and you can notice over every hole just what your potential is. Obviously it is a different ball game to put it all together in a single round. But you can see how far you can go if you follow your current game.
At times we may criticize our own game so vehemently and be hard on ourselves, that we overlook the fact that we do play some pretty good golf. This leads us to the second part of our game, and we go to the next step.
What I am now going to suggest has the capability to bring about a major change in the way you perceive your golf. We know that the scoreboard never lies. But we must delve deeper into what is taking place in your rounds. The way is to keep an additional golf score.
Here we begin to record the shots that are good. The record would also include appreciable management of the course.

Electric Golf Trolley – Life Made Easier?

One example would be the tiresome activity of lugging that heavy bag of clubs around the course, complete with waterproofs, drinks bottle, banana and a dozen balls. A full bag can weigh up to 20 Kilograms, putting a big strain on your back, shoulders, neck and arms. Stop lugging that heavy golf bag and let an Electric golf trolley work for you. Using a powered cart is about game improvement, leaving you to concentrate on your swing and executing your best shot.
To those that have brought an electric caddy, they are finding that it is the perfect playing partner. More and more golfers are realising just how important a cart is for their game. There was a time when using a motorised caddy was something of a luxury. In most places it is not like that anymore, powered trolleys are fairly common and almost the norm. You rarely see a whole group walking the course with out at least one of them using a powered cart.
An electric Golf trolley, as the name suggests, is a battery operated automatic cart that could be either manual or remote control. It provides easy transportation of clubs from tee to green and allows a normal upright posture while walking. This reduces the risk of strains and injuries. This also provides added comfort and helps the golfer to concentrate on his swing.
There are many benefits of using a powered caddy over a traditional pull trolley. With the manual option, you are required to walk around in a bent forward and twisted position. Which after a while can in my experience cause back and shoulder pain, thus negating the benefit of a trolley? The best option is a powered caddy; an electric trolley will transport your clubs from tee to green with ease, whilst allowing you to walk behind the cart in a normal upright position, gently guiding the trolley at you own pace.
The most common of these injuries is the lower-back or spinal injury, closely followed by the left wrist and shoulder. At least three out of every five golfers experience back injuries at some point of time or another. The primary causes of such injuries are due to poor swing mechanics, poor physical fitness and sporadic play.
Owning an electric cart doesn’t have to cost the earth, they are compact, come complete with a range of accessories and cost little more than a quality traditional trolley.

Golf Carts And Their Many Uses
Monday, July 13th, 2009
So, you love playing golf and getting out in the fresh air but hate the walking between holes then perhaps golf carts are for you. What a great way to get around the course. Just throw your golf bag in, jump on and off you go. You can even take passengers if you wish.
These golf carts are so much fun let alone convenient. Not only convenient for the avid golfer but since their production many years ago they have been used by many companies as runabouts for their employees to get from one end of the production site to the other. Some people have them at home on their estates to get around as they are so efficient and versatile to use.
Most people don’t realize the benefits of golf carts as they only think of them as a travel means on the gold course. And for sure they are great for that purpose. Did you know you can get them in electric, gas and also a manual push pull version. So the choice is yours. They also come in a few different designs and sizes for your convenience.
Some people even like the idea of having one different and unique such as a customized version. Many companies will be happy to customize one for you to look like your favorite car. Imagine being out on the golf course in your favorite little sports car style buggy. You will be the envy of everyone around!
Now that you know the options that you have with golf carts there is nothing stopping you finding the one best to suit your needs. Start by checking out the web and finding reputable manufacturers of golf carts and seeing what they have to offer you. Usually you can find what you want at very affordable prices when shopping this way compared to the usual way.

Golf Equipment: Gearing up Properly for Golf
Thursday, July 9th, 2009
Like any other sports, golf requires that you be geared up correctly to be able to properly play the game. This article will give you an idea of basic golf equipment one requires to be able to learn and play golf.
For starters, the basic golf equipment is a golf ball. Golf balls are dimpled tiny balls, use in to play golf. They are dimpled to reach farther length when driven by golf clubs.
Another important golf equipment is a golf club or golf driver. Golf drivers come in different varieties. This is because a golf course has different landscapes and different golf clubs are required to make the proper drive. Depending on the landscape, either sand, grass or cement, a golf club is essential to make the perfect drive. Professional golfers usually have a bag or two of golf clubs to cater to their golf needs. Most golf stores and sports equipment store sell golf clubs. Some golf clubs are sold in sets while other are sold individually.
To protect your golf equipment, such as your golf club, a golf bag golf club cover is essential. A golf bag will, of course, hold your golf club in one place and will make it easier for your caddy to bring your many golf clubs. Golf bags can also hold golf balls and other golf equipment like water bottle to quench your thirst while under the sun or extra shirt or your regular shoes. On the other hand, a golf club cover covers the edge of your golf club. This is done so to protect your golf club from unwanted scratches and dents. Dents can cause your drive to go from ok to bad. Dents in golf clubs can affect the drive of your golf ball. With this golf equipment, you can take care of the state of your club and your game.
One golf equipment that you need to invest on is a good pair of golf shoes. Golf shoes are different from usual rubber shoes or walking shoes. Golf shoes are created to walk on greens – the type where the sport is played. Golf shoes usually have pointed rubber under the soles to grip the earth and sand under your feet. This way, unnecessary shaking or moving is avoided. This is important because shaking can cause you to not hit the golf ball or to hit the golf ball in the wrong direction. If you plan to play professional golf a good pair of golf shoes is a necessary golf equipment to add up to your list. Choose one that is sturdy yet comfortable enough for you to walk into. Golf is a sport that requires walking from one hole to another or to where your ball landed (you can not use golf carts on the greens) and thus, if your golf shoes are uncomfortable, you would have a hard time concentrating on your game.
A golf equipment usually provided by most golf courses (aside from the golf ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin like thing that you punch to the ground to stand your ball into. The tee is use in teeing off (the start of your first drive) thus the name.
The most amazing golf equipment ever created (for me, that is) is the golf cart. Golf carts can take you from one hole to the other, though as I said earlier they are not allowed on the greens, they still lessen the burden of having to walk under the hot sun. This golf equipment can be acquired from golf courses. Golf players are usually made to use golf equipment such as this to give them a better and easier time playing the sport.
Many specialty shops and sport shops offer golf equipment. The Internet is also a good source of golf equipment. Second hand golf equipment are even auctioned off the Internet, if you are on a tight budget. Check out your local golf shop, sports shop, specialty shops, E-bay or Yahoo! for your golf equipment needs.

The Importance of a Good Golf Bag!
Monday, July 6th, 2009
Few things are more important to a golfer than a good golf bag. First off, golf bags come in many styles and a wide variety of colors. You can choose a bag for style, features or pick a color to match your mood.
Some have legs that fold out when they are placed on the ground and stand upright so the golfer doesn’t have to bend down and pick it up. That’s a nice feature in golf bags, especially if the golfer tends to walk the course, as many do. There is plenty of bending to be done when a golfer is trying to remove an obstacle from around his or her ball, or to get the ball out of the cup, so any way to avoid bending over is more than appreciated.
All golf bags have compartments where the golf clubs are to be placed. Each golfer has his or her own way of doing this and putting clubs where he or she wants them. Some golfers, though, are lazy and just stick their clubs in the compartments, grabbing whichever one they want when a particular club is needed. But, some golf bags have tubes to protect the club grips. These are nice to have. With the tubes, a golfer can get his or her clubs out easier. The clubs are never tangled up, and the grips last a lot longer.
Another important factor in choosing a golf bag is the number of pockets it has. Frankly, there’s no such thing as too many pockets in a golf bag. First, one of the pockets will be used to hold the golf bag’s hood. The hood is used to keep the clubs and bag from getting drenched when it rains. Another pocket will be used to keep extra towels (believe it or not, extra towels are important in the summer to keep the sweat off the brow and out of the eyes, along with keeping the hands relatively dry. Then, there is the pocket used for keeping the extra golf tees and possibly the divot tool. Finally, a pocket is needed for the golf balls themselves, and it doesn’t hurt to have a pocket to carry another dozen balls in, just in case.
Some courses are so difficult it is easy to lose a lot of balls during 18-holes of play. This makes having an extra box of balls around a good thing, but there has to be somewhere in the golf bag to keep them, which means another pocket.
Imagine trying to play golf without a bag. The golfer would be constantly stooping over picking up clubs, tees, balls, towels and the divot tool. Then he or she would have to walk to the ball, drop all of the clubs and stuff, select a club, hit the ball, and start the process all over again. It would be a major pain in the neck, and would make it nearly impossible to finish playing a round of golf. So, golf bags are an essential part of the game of golf.

How To Choose The Best Wedges To Improve Your Golf Score
Saturday, July 4th, 2009
Ever wonder how the players on T.V. hit those perfect shots around the green that end up stopping right beside the hole?
It’s a really simple answer. They have the wedges that are fitted to their individual games. How do they find those wedges? Well let’s take a look. As you know golf wedges have come a really long way in the last couple years and the smarter players are realizing the benefits of these advancements.
If you are still one of those players who is still only carrying one wedge in your golf bag you are basically throwing away strokes to your golfing buddies or other competitors. You have to add the benefits of a better wedge game to your arsenal to succeed and lower your scores. The best thing is that it’s simple to do.
There are four basic wedges that are available to the game of golf today. These wedges all have a particular place in your bag in terms of the shots you can hit with them. Since 70% of the scoring is done in golf from inside 100 yards it is essential to have these four wedges in your bag.
These wedges are:
The Pitching Wedge – This wedge is included in your set and is probably the “one” wedge that every player has. It is usually the club that is hit form about 100 to 125 yards form the pin. The loft on these clubs are somewhere between 46 and 50 degrees depending on the manufacturer. This will be the longest wedge in terms of distance in your bag.
The Gap Wedge – This wedge is typically the club that is left out of the so called “mix” because of its late introduction to the wedge game. This club is used to fill the gap between the pitching and sand wedges and can carry lofts between 50 and 54 degrees. These clubs are sold individually at your local retailer.
The Sand Wedge – Don’t be fooled by the name of this club into thinking it’s only for use from the sand. Its loft is somewhere between 55 and 59 degrees and provides a great amount of spin or stopping power. It can be purchased on its own or sometimes come with your set. You usually hit this club form 90 yards into the pin including the sand traps.
The Lob Wedge – These clubs must be purchase separately from your local retailer. They are used for shorter high shots around the green that you would like to stop quickly. They generally have a loft of 60 to 64 degrees and are a lot of fun to hit.
As a general rule of thumb the average player should try to space the loft of the different wedges to 4 degrees. What that means is there should be 4 degrees difference from pitching wedge to gap wedge, 4 degrees form gap wedge to sand wedge , and 4 degrees form sand wedge to lob wedge.
There are a number of other variables that we can get into to help you select the best wedges for your game but these should give you a great starting point.
