There are many different kinds of golf shirts available to buy and it can become overwhelming trying to choose the right one for you. This article will discuss everything there is to know about golf shirts, including some of the best places to buy them and other golfing apparel from.
So what is classified as a golf shirt these days? Well as we all know, golf is a very traditional sport and there are many different rules that players must follow when it comes to rules on the golf course. One of these rules that finds itself all across the world of golf, it that all players playing golf on a private golf course, must wear a collared shirt. So there’s the first thing you need to know about golf shirts. You have to now make sure that the one you buy has a collar on it.
One of the most popular collared shirts that many players where, are polo shirts. The first brand that comes to most peoples minds when they’re talking about polo shirts is Ralph Lauren. Yes we all know how expensive these shirts can be, however they are easily one of the best quality polo’s on the market today. If you don’t want to spend a great deal of money on a golf shirt, because you aren’t all that serious about your golf, then the are of course a lot of other less expensive brands that sell collared shirts for golf, including Nike, Adidas and many other sporting brands. Basically any golf brand that you can think of usually sells golf shirts and some of them are very affordable.
Do I have to wear a collared shirt in order to play golf? The answer to that question is no, with shades of grey. Most public courses allow people to play golf without a collared shirt, however not all of them. What you might have already noticed is that many public courses are starting to become less and less strict about the type of apparel people are allowed to wear on their course.
Almost every private course that I can think of however requires all players to wear collared shirts when playing on their course. You will find that most private courses are very strict about this as they want to make sure their course follows all the guidelines set by the PGA. This gives their course a sense of professionalism.
Now if you think that later on down the track you might want to join a private course, because you just can’t get enough of this great sport, then go out and buy yourself a few collared golf shirts for your wardrobe. Inevitably it’s going to make you feel like more of a pro and maybe your game might start improving as a result of this!

There’s a danger we treat fear completely as a bad thing in golf psychology. Now I know this goes against a lot of what I’ve been saying, but I’m talking here about the thin end of fear – nervousness. For many people, nervousness is the buzz of competition, whether we’re competing with other people, ourselves or the golf course we happen to be playing.
For many people the buzz is part of the enjoyment. Perhaps that’s what Mark Twain was referring to when he wrote that “Golf is a good walk spoiled” and HRH Princess Anne meant when she said “Golf seems to be an arduous way to go for a walk. I prefer to take the dogs out.”
Personally, I feel that if I’m not nervously shaking when I get near the end of a seriously good scoring round or close game of match play then I might as well give up golf and go and do something else that excites and inspires me. Jack Nicklaus knew that if you didn’t feel nervous at the end of a tournament you’re trying to win then there’s something wrong with you – he thrived on it. It’s said that he stopped winning golf tournaments when he no longer got so nervous in competition. And you don’t have to be winning to get that feeling, just competing hard in some way. If you watched the duel between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson during the last round of the 2009 Masters, you’ll know just what mean.
The important thing to remember is to channel that nervous energy into an enhanced state of focus using self hypnosis with deep breathing is one of the best ways I know for doing just that. Alternatively, you could follow the instructions in my article entitled Balance Your Golf Mind and Body for Better Golf – Focus on your Hara. Now anchor that feeling and add it to your unconscious golfing resources. Now you can access the great feeling, that Jack Nicklaus loves so much, whenever you want it or need it.
Like so many of the things I have learned as a golf psychologist, I do so wish I’d known about all this wonderful NLP and golf hypnosis a long time ago when I got so nervous at Hexham, playing with Tony Jacklin at Brookmans Park and whenever I seemed to be on the first tee anywhere!

Golf in itself is a simple game to understand, hit the ball into a hole. Sounds trouble-free enough, but understanding the golf swing is a difficult task. Learn to have a simple golf swing and you will as a matter of fact have a proper golf swing.
A golfer not using a simple golf swing is one big reason 80 percent of golfer?s never get a handicap of less than 18. This alone will cause you not to be consistent with your golf swing. Learning to have a good consistent swing and most of your golfing difficulties will dissolve.
One of the main things to help you with consistency in your swing is always to remember to hit the ball square, this will get you shooting longer distances any time and that in itself can shave off 6 to 12 or even more strokes off your score. Having a simple golf swing will surely improve the consistency of your swing. With a simple swing you have no pointless movement and is easier.
Keeping your swing simple is one of the greatest and easiest ways to improve your game each and every time.
Having a secure spine during your swing is one great tip to a simple swing. Using your spine as an axis for your body rotation will be of assistance to you by simply keeping your spine straight. Many golfers make this blunder and have a lot of movements that are unnecessary wasting a lot of energy. Be sure to coil around your spine and prevent hip rotation to the least amount possible.
Keeping your spine straight will automatically limit your hip rotation when you swing. Hip rotation will make you sway while you are swing, which is not key to a good swing. You can restrain the sway out of your swing by remembering to only swing around your spine.
Another crucial part of your is the power in your swing. Many people seem to believe that to get a powerful swing you need to pull the club back as far as possible, when the key to a powerful swing is only pulling back enough to coil around your spine.
When you are looking for the easiest way to develop your game quickly it may not be as difficult as you would imagine. Using the simplest golf swing for you using the exact power will have you on top of your game in a short amount of time.
Using a consistent simple golf swing helps you play even in the tensest of games and playing settings. This will help you find the proper golf swing for you and launch your confidence soaring.

One of the biggest benefits that people are able to enjoy from shopping on the World Wide Web as opposed to in a typical sporting goods store is that there is a great degree of competition between the many stores on the Internet. This is because there are so many stores and individuals offering the same types and kinds of goods, services and items. They are all located within the same environment. Unlike physical stores, it is very easy and convenient for a person to go from one store another looking for a price with which they are comfortable. With physical stores, an individual will be less likely to drive across town or to a neighboring town in order to compare prices. Golf is a great sport enjoyed by millions of people around the world. It is also one of the world’s most difficult sports, and for people with a tendency to become frustrated when things don’t go how they wanted them to, golf may not be the right sport for you.
If you’ve never played golf before, or played only crazy golf or only played on a small sized pitch and putt course with a seven iron and a putter, a game of golf on a full sized course is a different ball game. Not only do you require more golf clubs, but you require more patience, and also more energy to take you around the full course.
So if you’re going to play on a full sized golf course and don’t have any clubs, what do you do, you can either:
A: Go to your local golf shop, purchase the most expensive clubs you can find and when you find out you can’t play like Tiger Woods with them wish you’d have bought some cheaper ones. B: Rent some clubs or borrow some from a friend. C: Buy some reasonably priced used golf equipment from somewhere.
If you have never played golf before and are not sure you’ll like it, it is recommended that you borrow a set of clubs from a trusting friend who will need much reassurance they will come back in one piece. If however you have played golf before and you like the game, you may wish to consider purchasing some used golf equipment.
Simply because you are playing on a full sized golf course, this doesn’t mean you need the full amount of clubs. For beginners, a 3 or 5 woods, a 3 iron, 5 iron, 7 iron, sand wedge and a putter should suffice. As for other equipment a second hand golf club bag with a shoulder strap, or if you prefer, a set of wheels will be ideal for a days golfing.
When purchasing second-hand golf clubs it is important that the face of the clubs don’t have many dents and deep scratches in them as this can affect the course of the ball. Also be sure to check close to the grip and the head of the club on the shaft to ensure there are no signs of rusting, and finally, look down the clubs like a telescope and twist them to ensure they aren’t bent or warped.
It is important to be “in the now” in order to be fully aware of what we should be aware of whilst on the golf course. Perception involves all the ways of becoming aware of things, people, happenings, or ideas. Once a person has perceived something they will make sense of that “reality” in their own way – they will make a judgment, come to their own conclusion about the “reality” of the situation. Judgment involves all the ways of coming to conclusions about what has been perceived. If people differ systematically in what they perceive and in how they reach conclusions, then it follows that they will differ in levels of motivation, acquisition of skills and in their reactions to situations.
There are many ways in which people differ. On a physical scale, we differ in height, shape, weight, fitness, flexibility, and so on. And our golf swing will differ from one individual to another because of these obvious physical differences. Golf is played from the platform of you, the person, and you are unique, and thus you will have your own unique swing. And yet so many golfers try to imitate someone else’s swing which they perceive as perfect; and it probably is perfect…for that other person – it suits their individual characteristics, both physically and psychologically.
On the psychological side, some of us are more relaxed and easy going whilst others are more easily excitable. Some of us do things slowly and deliberately, whilst others do things at great speed. Some of us are very controlled, others not. Again, our golf will reflect such individual characteristics.
Awareness is the first step on the journey to mastery of anything in life. If you are aware of your individual methods of perception and the judgments that ensue, then you can change your reaction to situations, you can change your levels of motivation and also your ability to acquire skills. And golf is a game of reactions, motivation and skill.
If you are aware of reacting as “Mr. Angry”, for example, you can do a little work on this and learn to respond in a different way. I can hear you saying “but this is how I am, I always get angry because I care” and so on. But the fact is you don’t HAVE to get angry, you CAN learn to react in a different way, and you CAN take control, so long as you WANT to. And so, with a little effort on your part, and maybe a little help from a hypnotherapist or golf psychologist, you can change your reactions to all sorts of situations on the golf course. Wouldn’t that be useful?
Not only can you change your reactions, you can raise your levels of motivation, overcome negative thoughts and feelings and take a more direct route along the road to mastery. Once you are aware of your own unique characteristics, you know what skills come naturally to you and what skills require a little attention, and as you attend to these mental skills you will find that you can acquire them in a relatively short space of time. Let’s face it; if you are good at your long game but not so good at chipping, you know that if you work on the chipping it will get better. Taking the same approach to your mental skills will work just as effectively. They simply require a little attention on your part.
One particular aspect of personality, however, will always remain pretty constant and unchanged, and to fight this aspect would be a complete waste of time and effort. There is an individual tempo of the personality. There is a natural tempo with which we all perform any deliberately willed action. And if there is one thing which is vital in golf is to have a good rhythm, a good tempo. This does NOT mean that you have to have the same tempo as Tiger, or Ernie or Phil. Your best rhythm, your best tempo, is your OWN natural, instinctive tempo or rhythm. You don’t have to slow your golf swing down or speed it up; simply become AWARE of your natural tendencies and swing the club accordingly.
Ask yourself these two simple questions and you will easily work out your own best golfing tempo: Do you speak quickly or slowly? Do you walk quickly or slowly? Next time you swing your golf club, become aware of what tempo feels best to you. As Gary Player says “There is a definite “feeling” and this feeling is to be developed and looked for”. Instead of trying to swing at the speed you think you should, allow yourself to become aware of the feel of your golf swing and discover for yourself what feels best, and you will find that your own most comfortable swing speed, your most comfortable rhythm and tempo, will in fact simply reflect your personality type. By swinging your golf club with the rhythm and tempo of your own personality you will produce your best results on the golf course.
You will never become a master of someone else’s golf game, but you can become a master of your own game. To quote Pia Nilsson, “Trust your swing; it is your signature”.

Cart golf bags are designed to fit onto a golf cart so that you do not have to carry the bag and so can conserve all your strength for the game. They are different to normal carry bags in that they tend to be larger and bulkier, made from stronger material to give added protection and can carry a wider range of accessories and golf clothing. They also carry a full set of 14 clubs.
Cart Golf Bags Are Heavy – They Are Not Carry Bags!
These types of golf bags are normally a bit too heavy and bulky to lug around the golf course, and have to be used with a golf cart, so if you normally carry your bag do not be attracted by the fabulous designs and capacity, thinking it would be just the thing for you, even if you normally have a caddy, since neither you nor your caddy will appreciate that decision once you get onto the course.
That is why they are called CART golf bags. They are intended to be used with golf carts. Although they can be pretty heavy you should check that you can at least lift it when it is fully loaded. After all, you have to get it from your home to the car, and the car to the golf cart. You have to be able to lift it and secure it the cart. So don’t go wild and purchase the biggest golf bag for your cart you can find without trying it first.
Keep Up With The Fashion
Another point to consider is that these bulky bags can come with designer umbrellas and other accessories for the lady golfers. You can keep up with the latest fashion by purchasing a bag in the latest color and materials and buying matching handbag and accessories. This, of course, should not be your main consideration, but if you regard your golf accoutrements as making a fashion statement, then the field is open.
Do not, however, make the mistake of neglecting the functionality of cart golf bags. You should choose one which also meets your golfing needs. Perhaps you require a golf bag that holds a full set of 14 clubs, and you may want a locking system with individual compartments which holds each club securely, thus avoiding them moving around in the bag and getting damaged.
Make Sure Your Bag Is Functional
You should also make sure that your choice of the cart golf bags on the market has enough pockets for your needs. You may need pockets for your spare golf balls, tees, accessories such as divot tools, golf gloves, rainwear and an umbrella fastener.
All of these, of course also apply to your choice of any type of golf bag, but cart golf bags are especially suitable for customization due to the fact that weight is not so much of an issue. So choose wisely, and enjoy owning a piece of golfing equipment that you feel proud of.
Custom golf bags can be made available in all colors, designs and sizes from an increasing number of companies who are providing customization services including provision of designer logos and simple embroidered designs and messages.
The standard products are no longer satisfactory to many people for whom standardization is equated with the ordinary, and must have customized products to suit their own particular characters and personalities.
Show Your Team Colors
Traditional customizing services are still available from companies who can manufacture custom golf bags in your chosen color and choice of design. You can have your choice of sports team logo, such as football, basketball or baseball team, featured on your bag, which can also be made in your team’s colors. If you are too busy on the golf course to watch you favorite team live, you can make a statement of your allegiance on your golf bag.
You can also have your own company corporate logo featured on your bag, and custom golf bags can be provided as gifts from the larger and richer corporations to their favored customers. It is also possible to design your own logo and embroidered designs can be made to order to be incorporated in the bag of your choice.
Keep The Ladies Happy With A Fashion Statement
This type of customization has gone further now, with fashion being a common feature of custom golf bags and a wide range of golfing accessories are now available to match the golf bag itself. These include handbags, clothing, rainwear, umbrellas and even designer tees and balls. The high costs normally associated with type of customization is now being commonly avoided with the provision of custom golf bags off the shelf, and the standard level of customization can be further personalized with a few simple inexpensive options.
All types of golf bags can be customized and custom golf bags are available in carry bag, stand bag, cart bag and travel bag designs. Customized travel bags are especially popular, where the travel case can be designed to suit the customer and be used with any golf bag.
Six-Packs, Babies, Cats and Dogs!
Highly colored custom golf bags are increasing in popularity, though customization is not only used as a fashion statement. Many golfers use custom golf bag services to design golf bags to their own specific practical requirements. For example, many bags are designed to hold six-packs and other drinks requirements and others are made to match the women’s favorite golfing outfits.
Customization is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and it will not be long before cart bags are available with baby carriers and slings so that the whole family can go golfing together. That’s what you call starting early, and I won’t even mention facilities for the family cats and dogs!
Golfers experience fear in many different situations, be it when you are standing on the first tee, or holing out on the eighteenth green, or when you are thinking about driving the golf ball inside a line of trees or pitching a ball over water. The golfer’s fears can relate to what other people think, or a lack of belief in your own golfing ability. Some of us find that the putter or the wedge takes on the feel of a snake or an octopus in our hands. Some of us freeze; some sweat and some move more quickly…Some stop playing golf.
Golfing fears range from global to specific. You play golf, or any sport, from the platform of you the person. You play your golf within the constraints of your physical body, your mind and your emotions. Mind works on body and body works on mind. How many times have you thought, or said out loud, “I have a mental block with…”? A negative thought creates a blockage in your physiology – this is FACT. Every thought you have has energy, and the neurotransmitters in your brain take the thought information to every cell in your body.
It has been shown that to repress anger for twenty minutes will suppress your immune system for up to eight hours. EIGHT HOURS. So when you are standing over the golf ball, it is worth remembering that just thinking “I’m going to duff this one” actually has the power to trigger off a PHYSIOLOGICAL response, whereby the neurotransmitters in your brain transport that information to your cells…and you know the outcome. It is inevitable – you have programmed your body to duff that shot. And saying “don’t” doesn’t work either. By this I mean “Don’t duff this one” or “don’t go in the bunker”. In such a case the words are saying “don’t go there” but the emotional energy is going DIRECTLY there.
Where there is a conflict between your will power and your imagination your imagination wins. Your mind is exquisitely talented. You can be standing on the tee with four hundred yards of fairway stretching in front of you, with a bunker that’s just two by two, and actually manage to get the ball into that bunker just by THINKING “don’t go there”. Every thought has energy. The level of energy depends on the emotional value attached to the thought. The more intensely you experience the emotion, the more pronounced the result. Your thoughts create your emotions and direct your actions.
Everything starts with a thought. And you can choose your thoughts, although you may not have realized this. It always amazes me how many people acknowledge that they have a MENTAL block with putting, or chipping or their driver, and yet proceed to tackle the problem from a physical perspective – either buying a new club, consulting a different coach, or just standing hitting ball after ball on the practice range – rather than asking themselves how they could change their thinking. And as Einstein pointed out, if you keep on doing the same things over and over again, you can hardly expect the results to change. The fact is, if you have a mental block all you have to do is to explore your thoughts and choose to change them.
What I suggest to successful golfers, and what works for them, is to develop as many mental skills as you have shots. In your mind now, count the number of clubs in your golf bag and the different types of shot you can hit with each one…just make a quick calculation and you will realize how many mental skills in golf there are that you can choose to learn. As you practice your mental golf skills you get better at them.
If you are building strength in the gym, the number of repetitions and the weights you use will determine the result. If you are learning a new shot in golf the number of times you practice it will determine its effectiveness and consistency. The same applies with the acquisition of mental skills for golf. To go to a hypnotherapist or golf psychologist and then not practice the skills decided upon is like having your golf lesson and never practicing. And I’m sure you have met as many people as me who say “that didn’t work”, when the reality is they didn’t give it a chance to work. The teacher can only ever be as good as the student. The teacher can only guide, the student learns.
So many people simply say “but I can’t do it”, or some equivalent negative. And if you think you can’t, you can’t. You don’t even get past go. But if you are willing to approach the situation from a different perspective…a whole new golf game can emerge for you.
It is well known that children “have minds like sponges”, that they find it easier to learn and that it gets increasingly more difficult to learn as you get older. This is because up until the age of 7, during the imprinting period of development, the subconscious mind is completely open to suggestion. And from then to the age of 12, the modeling period, the conscious mind is forming, and after that the conscious mind filters everything before it is assimilated into the subconscious.
Whatever beliefs you have, they are just beliefs, nothing more. There is no need to be held back by limiting beliefs. You can choose to change beliefs no matter how deep rooted they are. Just as you go for a mechanical lesson from your golf professional, you may need a little help or direction from a golf psychologist, but all beliefs can be changed.
You have a body and a mind that has a similar physiology and neurology as the best golfers in the world. Athletic literature is full of examples of athletes who have excelled because of their internal desire, rather than the physical attributes such as size, strength, power or speed. There are tall golfers and short golfers, male and female golfers, young and old golfers. It is not age or body shape that prescribes ability. It is your MIND that makes the difference. What the mind can perceive, the mind can believe and the mind can achieve.
You have the ability to play golf well. How good you get will depend on what you want to get out of the game. It is your choice – you can be as good as you want to be. The most important thing is to set your own goals, and enjoy your golf – it’s a game and should be fun. Unfortunately many people overlook this fact, and allow worries and fears to get in their way. Fear is something that we learn through experience. Fear of embarrassment and fear of failure result in many adults not even attempting to learn a new task. Returning to the subject of children, we are not born with fear. Think about when a baby learns to walk. How many times does that baby teeter along and then fall, and then try again, and fall over again and try again, until eventually they can walk? If that child was worried about embarrassing him or herself, would they have learnt to walk? A baby will persevere time and time again, and has absolute trust that they will be able to learn that skill – otherwise they would not learn that skill.
The most important factor to grasp here is that what other people think doesn’t matter…but what you think does. What the mind can perceive, the mind can believe and the mind can achieve.

You can also use this type of visualization to become more creative in your short game, visualizing different shots, both high and low. Remember, everything in life starts with a thought, including every shot you make in golf. You have to think about it, plan it, visualize it and then it has the best chance of doing what you what it to do. If you don’t tell the golf ball clearly where you want it to go, it will go wherever it pleases…and probably won’t please you!
Here’s a challenge for habitual slicers, which covers, as you probably know, 70% of the golfing population. Be honest now and really think about what thoughts run through your mind when you’re standing on the tee and there are trees all the way down the right of the fairway. Are you thinking “OK, there’s a great spot in the middle of the fairway and I’m going to aim at that particular point”; or do you think “Oh no, trees on the right, I’d better aim further left”? And as you aim further left, do you pick an exact target to aim at, or do you simply think “further left”? And as you aim “further left” do you find that you come across the ball more and slice the ball even further to the right? Because if you did that your golf ball probably did exactly what you told it to do…Even as you were thinking “further left” were you not PICTURING those darned trees down the right?
So, the challenge to slicers is to go out there and decide on your exact target and picture the ball’s flight path and trajectory as it flies to that target and then just hit the ball. And if you really want to go for it, set the ball out to the RIGHT and draw it in to the centre, firstly in your imagination, and then notice how your mind really does tell the golf ball where to go. Your mind is far more important than your technique…try it and see for yourself. (If you think about it, what I’m saying is also very logical – if by intentionally setting it out left, you unintentionally hit a slice, then is it possible that by intentionally setting it out right, you might unintentionally hit a draw?)
Once again, you can be visualizing your routine and your shots when you are relaxing at home. What can be simpler than this type of practice? Practice, of the right things, really does make perfect. The beauty of visualization practice is that EVERY shot is perfect and so your brain is recording these perfect shots all of the time whilst you visualize. If you were partaking of actual practice, some shots would be great whilst others might not be so accurate – and your brain is recording every shot. This explains why numerous studies have shown that visualization practice is MORE effective than actual practice.
So if you want to get a HEAD start to your golfing season, get visualizing. And you don’t have to spend hours at it either. Research has shown that just spending 1-3 minutes visualizing at a time is optimal for this type of effective practice. To put it in perspective, that’s less time than smokers spend on smoking a cigarette! You could be visualizing whilst smoking or even while brushing your teeth.
And if you really want to excel you could go to sleep listening to a golf hypnosis cd to embed such visualizations deep into your subconscious mind; Again, what could be easier? You just get into bed, put the golf hypnosis cd on and fall asleep. Easy!
You can learn how to really visualize your shots with the help of hypnosis download. Hypnosis downloads can be used to get you to focus, to stay in the now, to visualize a great shot and to see what you really want to see thereby making it happen. And that’s what you want; you want to make it happen when you are out there on the course.

Once you get mid way through the golfing season it can be interesting to look back and see if your golf is meeting the expectations or hopes which you began your golf year with.
We all have our targets for the year, be it simply enjoying the game more, or playing more, or practicing as well as playing, or getting our handicaps as close to scratch as possible. It’s a bit like making your New Year’s Resolutions, only in this case it’s your New Golf Season’s Resolutions. And rather like New Year’s Resolutions, they can so easily fall by the way side after a couple of weeks, and for some of us, we don’t even get started, we don’t get past “go”.
Most people are really good at planning things at work, organizing work into bite sized chunks and planning when each chunk will be achieved by. Most of us are more comfortable knowing what we need to do and then just getting on with it. As you plan to achieve your goals, they become not only possible to achieve, but highly probable. We don’t, however, tend to take this mindset and apply it to our hobbies. A hobby is a game, isn’t it? You shouldn’t have to work at it, should you?
How much do you want to make your golfing goal probable as opposed to possible? The thing is that if you really want to achieve your golfing dream, you do have to plan for it. Whatever you imagine you can create, and so it’s vital that you can see yourself achieving your golfing goal. Can you see this happening for you; can you really see what you want to see?
Here’s a quick way of double checking that you can REALLY see yourself getting to that elusive goal. This is very quick and easy, so you can do it now.
Sit down somewhere comfortable, close your eyes and create a picture of yourself in your mind’s eye of yourself achieving your goal, really see what you want to see, create this picture in your mind’s eye and notice how you feel as well. I’d like you to look at that picture and become aware of a few things. Firstly, can you see what you want to see? This is the first step; unless you can see what you want, it’s highly unlikely to happen.
As you look at your picture, is this picture right in front of you or is it to one side? If it’s to one side, move it across until it is right in front of you. Make sure that your picture is right in front of you. As you move the picture until it is directly in front of you, make sure that you are seeing what you want to see in every way. As you see yourself in this picture, you should feel a sense of achievement, a feeling of satisfaction, fun and enjoyment. Now, imagine that you are stepping right into the picture, see what you’ll see, feel what you’ll feel, hear what you’ll hear. Really animate your picture and make it big and bright and clear in your mind’s eye.
For those of you who didn’t see what you wanted to see, I recommend the following quick mental exercise, which everyone can do, young or old, positive or negative in outlook.
Close your eyes again and create that picture in your mind’s eye. If you find that you are seeing what you want to see, that’s great, savor it and enjoy it, make it really bright and clear, make sure it’s right in front of you and then step right into your picture and enjoy the feelings associated with it. If, on the other hand, the picture has elements of what you don’t want, what I’d like you to do is to move this picture off to one side, left or right, send it as far to the side that it can go, and then drain the color out of it, and make it go fuzzy and shrink it, and imagine that you can crumple that picture up and literally put it in the bin. Just bin the negatives and create a picture right in front of you of what you do want to experience and achieve in your golf game.
This technique, of “binning the negatives”, is really effective in all areas of your golf game, as well as in all areas of your life. If a thought or picture in your mind’s eye is powerful and productive, keep it there. If it is negative or unproductive, just send it to one side, drain the color out, shrink it, crumple it up and put it in the bin. You will also find that hypnosis downloads can be used to make this exercise both easier and more compelling.

Shooting a good score when playing golf is predominantly about having a well planned mental attitude to the game. If you can’t establish a good stable attitude when playing the game then you will find it significantly more difficult to be successful. Many players get annoyed when things are going badly in a round. Loss of mental stability is one of the worst errors that anyone who is trying to improve their game can make. If you do not maintain a clam attitude then your results will be poor and so will you. There is a great deal of different books and DVD’s that can aid you in improving your golfing attitude. It is usually the most important factor to having a low scoring round.
The number 1 rule when you are about to play golf is to be faith in your own abilities. If you are not confident then you have a reduced chance of winning the match. Golfers who underestimate themselves often remember the the things they do badly. Lack of confidence is a major factor and can hurt your score a lot. For example players with a poor mental approach will focus more on the times the mess up than the times they play well. When people who lack confidence start their round they are always more unsure than the confident player. The confident player is the player who will focus on the positive aspects when he is out there on the course. The golfer who is under confident dwells on what he doesn’t want to do. If before you play a shot you have doubts about your own ability then already the shot is more often than not going to be bad. To be a successful golfer you need to dwell on yourself as a winner even when it feels like nothing went your way. This can be pretty challenging but a confident approach has to come from within. Coming first is about dwelling on what you know you are capable of doing and not dwelling on what are the negative aspects of your game.
Other important things to dwell on are patience, enjoying the challenge and overcoming your nerves. Just be sure to consider all the good things that you can do when you are about to set foot on the first tee. If you really think about it golf is only a game and you should be able to keep your cool no matter what score you shoot. It can be unnerving at times but it can also be one of the best feelings ever if you play well . The more you consider the times you have played well the more controlled you will play in the long run. The more you get used to playing golf the the lower your score will be, remember that and you will be a much more consistent golfer.
There is a large amount of fantastic golf cart bags in online stores to choose from but finding first rate value can be really difficult. A first rate golf club set can also be really hard to find.
If you want to improve your golf swing easily and in a short amount of time you need to start focusing on the small simple things. If you take two or three tips and concentrate on them first until they are completely mastered, then your golf swing will improve very quickly.
Here are three simple tips to improve your golf swing
Tip 1: Work on your mental fitness. First things first, everything you do is a result of your thinking. If you visualize the process of your shot first then usually your body will respond with that exact motion. Think of everything you do when you hit the ball, from foot placement, to backswing, to follow through, the works. Their are various methods to relax the brain, yoga, tai chi and so on, but I recommend a Golfing Fitness Guide to provide maximum results.
Tip 2: Film yourself taking a shot. This is a really simple and effective way to break down your shot frame by frame and analyse it at every point. If you dont have a camcorder some digital cameras have a recording option or just borrow one. This method is one of my favourites as you can see all your flaws and you know exactly where you need to put some more training in.
Tip 3: Work on your stance. If your stance is wrong to start with then you might as well go home straight away. A solid and important stance is essential or you may find yourself slicing or hooking your shots. Your feet should be shoulder width apart and be slightly ahead of the ball. Make sure your your head is down and eyes are fixed firmly on the ball. You can assess yourself on you video and compare it to professionals.
As with anything you need to take small steps and be persistent and patient. If you implement these tips into your game I guarantee you will see rapid improvement, but you need to take it upon yourself to be motivated to better your game otherwise all the tips in the world wont be able to help you.

Most beginning golfers don’t realize how much skill and technique goes into a proper golf swing. It looks so easy when you see experienced golfers or pros swing – it even sounds quite simple when the theory of the technique is explained to you. But watching it and hearing about it, and actually doing it yourself are indeed two different things!
An effective golf swing takes quite a bit of practice to perfect. People spend years working on their swing. Keep in mind that the object is to get the ball into the hole at or under par for that hole….but the swing is what determines whether that actually happens or not. Essentially, a proper golf swing determines the entire outcome of the game!
An effective golf swing is accomplished by forming a triangle with your shoulders and arms, and keeping that triangle locked in place throughout the entire swinging process. This is often easier said than done, and you will find that you lose control of the ball by slicing a great deal before you get the concept down. When you draw the club back, you do not move your arms, even though your arms are essentially moving. What you are really moving is your shoulder and your hips – without ever actually moving your arms.
There are many training aids available to help you develop a good golf swing. You should take advantage of the available technology to improve your game. There are aids that will help you keep your arms locked, as well as aids that help you keep your wrists locked. There are aids to help you correct your stance, as well as your backswing, upswing, and even the force with which you hit the ball. If you have an issue that needs to be corrected in your golf game or swing, there is a golfing aid available to help you!
Making a video tape, showing your swing from all angles will also help you improve your game. Have a friend video tape your swing. Get lots of footage on the tape, and then watch it – in slow motion. Really pay attention to every aspect of your swing, watching from your head down to your feet. Making yourself aware of the mistakes is the first step to solving them. If you know what problems exist, you will pay special attention to those areas the next time you play. With enough practice and determination, you can correct those problems.
Don’t be afraid to look funny. Looking good on the golf course is not your top priority – playing a great game of golf is what you are after. Some people have a stance that looks a little funny to others…but those same people have perfected that stance to the point where they have greatly improved their swing because of it. Some people grip the club in a funny manner. Some people play ‘natural golf’ using ‘natural golf swings.’ This form of golf does look funny to traditional golfers – but it is quite effective. Don’t be afraid of being different if it helps you play better!
Studying the swings of great golfers can be a training tool within itself. However, it is important to remember that you are an individual. While you can try many of their techniques, their exact technique probably won’t work as well for you as it does for them. Take their techniques, and work with them to make them your very own – as long as they improve your game.
You can practice your swing at home or at the office (if this is allowed). You don’t need a ball; you just need a little room. Swing the club, just as you would if you were going to hit the ball. Instead of concentrating on needing to hit the ball, however, concentrate on the actual swing. You should also consider using training clubs as well. These will build your strength a great deal, allowing you to hit the ball harder and farther than ever before!
Remember that developing a proper golf swing takes time, practice and patience. If you are having problems, do not get frustrated, or give up. Keep working at it, and look for the solution you need to correct the swing problems you have. One of these days, you will be playing like a pro!

If you have a special someone in your life with a passion for playing a full 18 holes, you have a world of possibilities when the holidays, birthdays or other special events roll around. No, you don’t have to settle for a package of golf balls either, there are many other ways to go to find just the right gift idea.
If you’re working on a budget that’s big, great gift ideas can be very elaborate. Consider giving the golfer in your life a weekend getaway to a famous course, complete with a few rounds of golf, dinners and more. The United States is loaded with PGA-rated courses in fantastic vacation getaways, so the trip could be for the both of you. European destinations are great ideas, too, if your budget is particularly large. European trips will help take the golfer back to the sport’s roots and enable him or her to fully immerse in the cultures that created the game.
For those working on a budget that’s a little more modest, the ideas for great gifts for golfers still are many. Here are a few possibilities, keep in mind prices will of course vary:
* A round of golf and lunch at your golfer’s favorite course. This ranks about 100 times higher on the good gift idea list than just a box of balls and it’s more reasonable than a weekend getaway to Europe on a more budgeted wallet.
* Golf lessons from a pro. If you have a golf course around you with a pro that gives lessons this is a fantastic idea for the golfer who’s trying to perfect their swing. Check with area clubs and see what kind of possibilities exist. Some clubs will offer lessons even for those who don’t have memberships, so if one club won’t, keep trying.
* Create a new golf wardrobe. Update your loved one’s golfing apparel. Hit a good pro shop and look for comfortable items that will make him or her look snappy while working on their game.
* Golf gift basket. This one’s perhaps one of the easiest ideas on the purse. A gift basket can include anything you’d like, golf related or not. If you can’t find exactly what you want in a pro shop, buy a basket and make your own. Items that might be included in this golf gift include tees, sun block, a visor cap, shoes, towels, clothing items and the standard set of balls. Other items, too, can be thrown in for fun. Use your imagination and chock it full of great “little” gifts.
* Gift certificates. If all else fails and you can’t decide what your golfer might like, get him or her a gift card to their favorite pro shop. The beauty of this gift is it only has to cost what you can afford and there’s no worries about the wrong item being purchased.
For those with golfers in their life, the best gifts are clearly those that can be used in the pursuit of their favorite sport. For many, golf is more than a game, it’s a passion. Show your golfer you care by helping support their hobby.

This is one guide that can make all the difference in the world for beginners. Perhaps you cannot get your golf swing in gear nor can you afford to spend a thousand or more bucks for an instructor or buy a costly golf aid. Read on further to combat these difficulties.
This may sound too simple, but firstly, you have just got to let your hair down and relax to get a good swing in motion. You may have acquired already the knack to swing the best motion, but you need to get it better and be as comfortable as you can be. You have to forget that anyone is near you at all. Pretend that you are all alone. At the end of the day, no one is going to care about your swings, keep on concentrating on your game and then see the results. It’s a process of trial and error.
If your golf grip is the cause of your troubles then there are different kinds of golfing grips. You should go for the one that feels right for you and then always practice with that grip. Again, hitting on the correct grip for you can be a simple case of trial and error, but eventually you will hit the ones that complement your swing the best. It may take some time, but it may be worth it in the long run when you acquire that smooth, easy and effortless swing that you have wanted to have for such a long time.
You are more than likely to end up with an ungainly swing and a bad follow-through in case you do not have a nice stance. There is nothing to be tense about though; you can get yourself set in the right way. It is only a question of time before you can get the right motion, more so if you have been playing with that bad stance for some time. But it also may be a bit tough to come out of it and pass into a neat swinging motion if you have practiced in a bad form.
There is always space for doing better and better. So clearly, once you hit the correct golf swing, hold on to it and work with it. You may not be the most sought after golf player in the whole wide world, but if your swinging motions work for you and shows your scores coming down, then I am sure you will not give two hoots for being the very best on the planet! For a start it will make you feel good just to beat your friends on the field.
You can also browse through the many books and videos that are sold on the market to improve your swings and mechanics more. If you know what it is exactly that you are looking for then go do it without the aid of an instructor or expensive trainer. Have fun!

The golfing world has seen the emergence of the Remote Control Golf Trolley, as tool to take over from the push trolleys and now the every popular Electric Golf Trolleys. Recently OFCOM has questioned the legality of these devices as advertised by many smaller and in some cases large distributors and in most cases stopped the companies from trading until they can confirm compliance.
The remote control golf trolleys have to meet the required EU directive EN 300 220 before they can be marketed in the European Union (EU) and therefore the UK. The main component of this is that the equipment meets the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive (R&TTE). Known as the R&TTE directive or R&TTE for short, this is the main route to compliance for Radio and telecoms equipment that is sold in Europe.
The directive came into force April 2000, replacing the Telecommunications Terminal Directive for Telecoms equipment and mainly National Standards for Radio Transmitters. The aim of the directive is to ensure that the equipment that is being marketed is safe to use and will not interfere with other equipment in the vicinity.
The directive ensures that the use of such equipment is very tightly controlled, with different types of apparatus being allocated frequency slots and power bands that they must operate within.
The EU repetitive must be able to demonstrate that they have the following components, a Technical Construction File (TCF) a test report from a recognised testing house, or a notified body opinion, and they must also ensure that the equipment is appropriately marked.
The TCF comprise certain technical information and photographs, to demonstrate that the equipment that is being sold is that same variant that was tested. It should contain Circuit diagrams, component lists and picture / description to uniquely identify the equipment. The TCF must be held by the EU representative for 10 years after the product is removed from the market.
The Test report, comprise the results of a series of tests carried out to ensure that the equipment meets the standards laid out in the directive. Ideally this should be carried out by a EU or UK testing house, as OFCOM have encountered numerous problem in validation reports and certificates produced outside of the EU.
It is possible to obtain a Notified Body opinion on a report obtained from outside the EU, in this case the EU representative can then refer to this opinion, when placing the equipment onto the market. The equipment must then be marked appropriately, with a CE mark, the name and address of the EU representative, the serial number and the model number. This information should appear on the radio equipment devices, and on the packaging.
Finally the representative must then construct a Declaration of Conformity (DoC), to show that the remote control golf trolley has met the requirements. This document must accompany the equipment when delivered to the customer.
The consumer should take the time to ask the supplier if they can provide a DoC, and a valid test report from either a notified body or an EU recognised testing house. A negative response and failure to provide such information should make the consumer look elsewhere.

If you are just getting into the sport of golf, you have probably heard thousands of golf tips from well-meaning golfers. However, what many golfers fail to realize is that many of the golf tips that work well for one golfer, simply do not work well for another. Here are some golf tips that work well for everyone.
As a beginner, do not rush out and buy a set of high priced clubs. Buy a set of used clubs, or better yet rent your clubs. Take a little time to see if you really enjoy the game of golf, and if you will stick to it first. The used or rented clubs won’t be the top of the line, but they will get you through several games of golf to see if you are going to stick with it. This is also a good opportunity to start researching exactly what clubs you need when you are ready to buy a new set.
Golf is fun, but the sport should not be taken lightly. It is a sport – it isn’t just a bunch of retired men knocking a ball around. It takes a great deal of skill and technique to master the game. The pros you see on television make it look quite simple – but it isn’t. The concepts you will learn from more experienced golfers will sound easy – and look easy – in theory, but in practice, they are quite difficult. The sooner you realize this, the faster you will start to improve your game.
While golf does require skill and technique, it is still meant to be enjoyed and the experience should be relaxing. If you get angry over bad shots or you find that you are not enjoying the game, you should back up and re-evaluate your reasons for playing the game. Try to look at things from a new perspective. It is a game that tests your skill – but it should not test your patience!
Choose your golf aids carefully. A great deal of money can be wasted on aids, courses, and videos that turn out to not be any help at all. When possible, buy used aids, courses, and videos. Save your golfing money for more important things – like clubs, balls, and tees! Used clubs aren’t very good – used training equipment usually works quite well.
Golf is great exercise. Riding in a golf cart defeats that purpose though. Walk, don’t ride! Save the cart for the days when you really are too old to walk a short distance – take advantage of the exercise that you will get by walking from one tee to the next, and take the time to actually enjoy the walk!
Alcohol is often served at the clubhouse – but you should wait until you finish your round of golf before consuming any. First, the alcohol will greatly alter your game. Second, alcohol is a dehydrating substance, and this isn’t safe in the hot sun. Carry water with you during your game, and make sure you drink plenty of it!
Becoming good at the game takes a lot of practice. Use your practice sessions to learn what mistakes you are making, and work to correct them. Don’t just keep making the same mistakes over and over, thinking that it doesn’t matter, or that it is too hard to learn! If you’re going to play, play to win!
Use training aids, and if possible, video tape yourself playing a round of golf, making sure that you get close up shots of you teeing off, close up shots of the club hitting the ball on the tee-off, and even shots of you putting. Have a friend run the camera for you for best results, and review the tape in slow motion to see what needs the most work.
The most important golf tips you will ever receive are the ones that focus on good sportsmanship. Never make fun of other players. Some people do look funny playing golf – but those funny looking people can probably beat every aspect of your game, and they will have the last laugh. Be respectful of your fellow golfers, and listen closely to the advice of the seasoned players.

With players across the world considering the Ping golf club as one of the best going, it’s little wonder this name brand is highly sought after by players of all levels. Although it’s a poor musician that blames his instrument, a musician can’t play well if the instrument doesn’t work well and so is the case in golf. In the golf club game, aerodynamics, durability and playability are all key to mark one club above another.
Ping clubs are a favorite of golfers of all proficiency levels for a number of reasons. Perhaps the most important is their ability to provide one of the best “instruments” going. If serious golfing is the desire, Ping has a serious club set to match the individual golfer. Offering woods, putters, irons, accessories and more, the company has just about everything a person needs to turn a casual hobby into a serious pursuit. The company makes a number of different types of clubs for users of all ages, sizes and swing styles. Personal fittings are even offered.
By providing some of the best clubs in the business, Ping has steadily earned itself a reputation for quality, reliability and expertise. Garnering a higher price than some other clubs on the market, Ping is considered an investment by the serious golfer. Ping clubs, while more costly than some, are famous for their ability to stand up to the elements, major use and more; thus, earning them the ability to command higher prices.
Known for craftsmanship, quality and innovation, Ping has been making clubs since the 1960s. Today, the club is a favorite of such golfers as Ryan Moore and Bubba Watson for these reasons and more. And although it’s synonymous with professional play, the Ping name is also a favorite of the weekend golfer, the beginner and the student. By providing solid designs, the clubs enable golfers to worry only about their game, not the equipment needed to get the job done. Ping takes care of the quality so players only have to concern themselves with learning the sport.
Not willing to sit on its laurels, the Ping company is noted for its innovations and its willingness to incorporate new ideas into its designs. The Arizona-based company caters to golfers of all levels with a variety of clubs that range from those just right for pros to those for younger golf enthusiasts.
Noted for its solid clubs that are carefully made and weighted to perfection, Ping is a name that means quality in the industry. For those who doubt the craftsmanship behind the clubs, Ping even invites visitors to tour its factory in Phoenix, Ariz. Walk-ins are even taken for personal fittings of clubs.
One of a kind quality and service has made Ping a trusted name in the industry. Although a little more expensive than some of the competition, those who buy Ping do so for the quality they receive for the investment. Becoming a favorite of pros and casual players alike is a big accomplishment, one Ping strives to retain.

Golfing is one of those sports that everyone should get involved in. It is fun and it is not too strenuous. That makes it perfect for people of all ages from the very young to the very old. Not many other sports can boast the huge age range of people who play golf. If there is one thing they all have in common it is the want to improve their swing. Everyone wants to score that hole in one and they all want to improve their golf bunker shot too. It is only natural.
There are several ways that you can work to improve your bunker shots and most of them are pretty basic. You don’t need to grow another arm or buy some super expensive club to help you out, it is all about technique and learning from those who have been there before you. I was not a natural golfer. It took me a long time to get where I am today. For example I was one of those people, like so many others, who was always slicing the ball. No matter how hard I tried I only seemed to be getting worse, it was terrible. I practiced and I practiced and still I couldn’t seem to improve my swing. Then I got smart and asked someone for help and the funny thing is that the answers they gave me were easy and simple. In no time I has solved the problem and that was that. So I have to commend you for even getting to this article because not everyone is smart enough to be willing to look for help when they need it. Now that you are here you can learn something!
But I digress, one bunker can be very different from the next – heck, even the same bunker can be different from day to day. It is all about the weather conditions. If it has been cold and wet lately then you could find that the bunker is full of wet sand and soil and this will mean you have to take a different approach to your bunker shot. So always keep that in mind when it comes time to hit the golf ball. Look around you and feel the ground with your feet to see how squishy or soggy it happens to be and include this info in your shot.
In the case of the ideal bunker shot out of dry normal sand you want to have the clubface a little more open than usual. This will allow you to get a good shot in that will get you out of the sand. In the case of wet or shallow sand then you want to take a slightly different approach. Try having the club face a little more square in this instance and see how that works for you. It should make all of the difference. In wet and shallow sand it is also a good idea to have a little less violent of a backswing. By making this backswing shorter you will have more control over the ball and your ability to maneuver it out of the bunker.
Always remember that if you make the mistake of closing the face of the club you will end up digging into the sand instead of getting out of it. This will lead to a whole new set of problems, so keep it open and you will find your score improving drastically the next time that you play golf. Your golf bunker shot will go from being so-so to impeccable.
